For the
experienced pilot who wants a more responsive glider
The
Power Vega II is noted for its high performance and extended range
of passive safety.
It offers the easy and precise handling found in all the Axis gliders.
The Power Vega II is a sporty wing that combines the high
performance reserved for higher class gliders, with the safety
of the standard class.
Because of a high canopy stability and ease of learning, this
glider received an EN-C (size S EN-B) classification at testing.
It is a
fast,
dynamic, but
also stable
and
predictable
glider.
Most
pilots would choose this as a second or third wing in one’s
flying career but for some it will be their final choice based
on the ideal combination of performance, durability and safety.
The Power Vega II is targeted toward the experienced pilot (foot
launch and trike).
Experienced pilots will appreciate the safety built in for
recreational and XC flights!
The projection of
the Power Vega II is designed in such way that
the distribution of the uplift pressure is
optimized. The specially developed profile enables
stable flight with a wide range of angle of
attack.
The projected area
has been designed to lower induced resistance and increase the
glider's performance. For thermalling, the glide ratio has been
improved and greater speed range has been produced while
providing greater stability and improved feedback.

Construction
The well established
construction of diagonal reinforcements in the attachments
of lines A, B, C and D has been taken from the concept
of the Axis Mercury competition glider.
The amount of lines have been minimized by the
application of strategically using different diameters,
therefore significantly reducing frontal resistance and
increasing the wing’s performance without any effect on
safety.
The application of reinforcements on
the leading edge
increases the stability of the canopy on max. speed.
Axis reduced the weight of the canopy by the application
of new materials, which also increase the safety.
Material reinforcements
are added between the exterior line tabs and all the stitching is on
the inside of the wing for greater protection.
An innovation
– The newly designed “special differential speed-system” increases
speed while reducing the chances of collapses at maximum speed.

Choice of colors
For an additional $300, you
can order your Axis glider in custom color.

Axis achieved these excellent
characteristics by using high quality
materials (Porcher Marine Scrim W420) on
the leading edge of the glider and new
materials which have reduced the weight
of the canopy, also increasing its
safety.
The
canopy is made of Skytex S 9017, a water repellent
material that has high UV reflectivity.
