The Silex was born out of Meikel Werner's and Markus Muller's (the two German owners of the Fresh Breeze paramotor) in search for a glider to meet the needs of paramotorist.  They then decided to design a glider especially for paramotor.

Meikel Werner won the first place at the German paramotor competitions with the Silex in 1999 and Eric Dufour also won the first place with this glider at the National American competitions.
