| One challenge, in preparation for a
paramotor take-off, especially with a tandem unit, is starting and maneuvering with a great
deal of weight on the pilot's shoulders.
Back in 1998 with heavier tandem units when Dufour
had to prepare for
flight, this situation was aggravated while waiting with
70 pounds on his back, until the motor was warmed up AND the
passenger was ready.

When the pilot prepared to start, he lift
the unit on his shoulders and put it on his back like a coat. He can pull start in this position and the propeller blast blows
over the glider.
With the mono pod extended,
it is now possible to wait and relax.Once ready, activated
the release handle and up... it goes!
