Play for two

The new Play For 2 MK II tandem glider is manufactured by Apcoplay for two

The Play 42 has been in production for 3 years and gained a solid reputation as a safe and reliable wing. Now the Play 42 MK II is ready and it retains the good qualities of its predecessor such as excellent launch, perfect flare and improve the glider’s handling & thermalling capacity with wider speed range and lighter brake pressure.

It uses the same platform and technical data as the Play 42 (retaining existing certification), but has a large number of improvements, leading to a much better, well-polished tandem glider.  The Play 42 MKII is now a much better wing for free-flying and perfect for paramotor flying (foot launched or trike).

It is designed for the professional tandem market as well as recreational tandem pilots and its design is focused on:

  • Easy to launch with trim closed or open in any wind condition (cross wind, back flow, or no wind)
  • Easy, light force, quick and responsive handling
  • Great flare
  • Reassuring safety
  • Wide speed range (risers equipped with trim tabs - certified)

Traditional APCO materials, including their famous double coated siliconised cloth and heavy duty Super Aramid lines, assuring many years of use (twice as much as any other tandem glider) – making your investment per hour of flight much more attractive.

Thermalling & Handling

Vastly improved thermalling capacity – The brake cascades have been redesigned to yield much more direct & precise handling, lighter brake pressure and improved bank angle coordination.  From tight thermal cores to wide lazy thermals, efficient climbing and effortless thermalling have never been easier.

Improved Trim System

Easier in-flight adjustment (one-handed)
New no-slip webbing
Replaceable trimmer webbing
Slow the glider down even more for efficient thermalling in weak lift.
B-Line System Reduction
Easier to enter a B-line stall

Hold a stable B-line stall longer with less effort
Neodymium Magnets
Powerful magnets now come as standard.
The magnets are sewn into the webbing, do not require precise alignment and will not clog with dirt.
Heavy-duty swivels connect the brake lines with the brake handles
and eliminate twists on the main brake lines.

Sand Removal System

Also known as “butt-holes”, these Velcro sealed openings at wingtips allow for easy removal of sand and debris.

This glider is made from an excellent tear resistant Ripstop Nylon fabric, which is P.U. coated to zero porosity and then siliconized to give a high resistance to the elements. Different fabrics are used for the top, bottom and ribs, due to their different functions. The lines are made of Super Aramid covered with a polyester sheath for protection against UV, wear and abrasion. The bottom section of the brake lines is made of polyester because of its better mechanical properties. The D shackles that attach the lines to the risers are made of stainless steel.

You can customize your glider by adding a personal or company logo. The bottom surface of the Play for 2 has been made especially for advertising purpose, or placing a custom logo.  There is non siliconized white fabric on the entire bottom surface for easy sticking of logo.

Certification
PLAY 42 MK II has successfully completed all certification flight tests for ACPUL/AFNOR Tandem Class (with trim tabs on risers).
