Record
of the most flights in one day by a
student during training
This record was recorded
on a clam and cloudy
day. Diane Colvin executed a record
breaking amount of 12 flights, during her third
day of training. This was the largest
number of daily flights by a student during
training ever to be recorded.
Diane, a strong and healthy young
woman of 28 years of age, aided by willing
weather conditions, took her preceding record
breaker's title; Frenchman, Gilles Roger, who in
July of 2001, held a record of 11 flights, in
Quebec.

Dédé &
Mireille from France,
training at Fly-By
Ranch
During a memorable 6 month RV trip in
America, Dédé, a friendly
paramotor pilot from France, his
charming wife Mireille and their two
children, came to visit us.
They enjoyed their time here, as Dédé
took this opportunity to fly with us for
a few days.
After having witnessed the way students
are taught how to fly, Mireille felt
safe with the idea of taking a
beginner's course with Eric Dufour,
which she completed very well as her
husband spent some "quality time" with
the kids.
Afterwards,
Dédé offered himself an advanced
training to perfect the skills he had
already acquired, as well as a trike
training course. They appreciated
very much having had the opportunity to
learn these skills in their own native
language with Dufour who is
French-Canadian.
Later on, Mireille decided to try flying
with a paramotor trike, as her husband
had begun doing, which is how she
completed her advanced training, leaving
our school with 15 great flights.
Before returning to France,
Dédé decided to add adjustable j-bars to
his paramotor, in order to achieve
easier take-off's and landings.

Full stall executed
by Richard Good
Richard Good, who was trained by
Eric Dufour as a pilot and later on,
as an instructor, performed a full
stall. Richard Good is
actually one of the most skilled
paramotor pilots in America.
A full
stall requires great control in
order to recuperate. The
pilot's skill and reaction is
greatly in demand for this maneuver
to be performed effectively and in
this case, a Sting glider shows
great reaction as well.
The full
stall is not the most elegant
paramotor maneuver, but it is very
impressive to execute. If the
full stall is not performed by
someone of adequate skill with the
proper equipment, it can degenerate
asymmetrically, becoming a spin or a
twist, as well as in worse cases, a
frontal collapse resulting in a
cocoon (falling in the glider and
stay prisoner in it).

Guerin's video

if not performed by an experienced pilot, with the right equipment
and in the appropriate weather.
